| Movie debut that introduces Mario Lanza to
the audience of the movie theaters.He plays the role of a truck driver who moves
piano and has a tenor voice. Co-stars of Mario Lanza are the soprano
Kathryn Grayson, M° Josè Iturbi and Ethel Barrymore. The success of the movie
was sensational, infact MGM had to start in advance the shooting of the next one
sooner than it had been planned. Later on Mario Lanza was nick-named the truck
driver tenor, even if he hadn’t never moved a piano in all is life. |

| It’s
the movie adaptation of the famous operetta .Lanza didn’t play the leading
role due to some bitter discussions with the producers which lead eventually to
the breaking of the contract.Edmund Purdom took Llanza place, as the Prussian
Prince, that to obey to his grandfather
wishes, goes to Heildeberg to attend its University. He
fell in love with the daughter of the owner of a tavern, but the difference of
status will interfere with their love and their love-story will end.
Lanza recorded the sound-track of the movie before walking out on MGM and it was
for one whole year the top record selling in the Hit Parade. |

tenor who falls in love with the vicious and mean Joan Fontaine , who plays
the role of a wealthy lady who seems to want to help him out with his singing
career. He is dumped over a sculptor ,
so Lanza madly
jealous, goes to Mexico where he meets and falls in love with the beautiful
Sarita Montel , daughter of a bull-fighter , who will help him with his opera
career.Lanza costars are, as said, Sarita Montel, Joan Fontaine and Vincent
Price. The movie has a large selection of arias. |

this movie.In it he is a singer and a star of the American TV who goes to Rome
to court his ex-girl friend and start over with her.But in Rome he will find the
true love of an Italian girl. Lanza costars are Marisa Allasio, Renato Rascel.The
